The Royal Gorge Route Railroad offers a unique way to experience the canyon from the bottom up. The vintage train cars travel alongside the Arkansas River, passing through the dramatic 1,000-foot granite walls of the Royal Gorge. Multiple class options are available, from coach seating to luxury dome cars with fine dining. The two-hour journey provides incredible photo opportunities and narration about the area's history and geology. Special themed rides are available for holidays and events.
